A FEW THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT FILAMENT COFFEE
1. We'VE ONLY JUST STARTED
Only a few years ago we were just a couple of accountants, very much unaware of this wondrous world of coffee. A chance encounter with a filter style coffee changed all that, and quickly became an obsession. Soon after, we stumbled onto cold brew and haven't looked back. We've come a long way since our first batch: pre-ground coffee brewed in a plastic jug, filtered with an almond milk bag. We're learning more about this world and are working on our craft every day. 2. COFFEE ISN'T A FLAVOUR
Coffee isn't a flavour any more than wine or whisky is.
Tasting notes and coffee profiles are well known to those who know well... but they weren't to us... we had no idea. It's something else to have a coffee that tastes just like apricot, blueberries or dark chocolate. It underpins how we brew and we're so excited when our customers discover their own, unique coffee profiles.
3. THE MORE THE MERRIER
As much as we love cold brew itself, the best part for us is sharing it with our family and friends. Whether it's our Saturday morning ritual at the farmers market, taking a couple of squealers along for the next road trip or meeting the owners of the incredible businesses we've partnered with around Perth, our community is very important to us and a huge influence on our success.
4. SUSTAINABILITY MATTERS TO US
We think you should know what's in your cup. We also think you should know where that cup ends up. Early on we realised that running a business (even a small one!) can be such a force to do good. So rather than just being about cold brew, Filament became our means to reduce our carbon footprint, and to work with our roasters for the well-being of coffee farming communities. We recycle 100% of our used coffee grounds, serve our cold brew in reusable glassware, distribute in reusable kegs and brew direct-trade beans.
